This Poem is not by me, but one that I have found, I do not know who wrote it:
SITTING AT THE FEET OF TV
By a Backsliding Soul still faintly concious.
Sitting at the feet of T.v.
Which has drawn my heart away,
Horrid place, so foul and sensuous,
Still it finds me there each day.
Sitting at the feet of T.V.
Where can mortal be more cursed?
There I come with sins and sorrows,
Though it ne'er can quench my thirst.
Sitting at the feet of T.V.
Even till the Sabbath hours are past,
Filled with everything, but Jesus,
It has seared my heart at last.
Sitting at the feet of T.V.
There I never think to pray,
While absorbing all it's horrors,
I'm distracted every day.
O my T.V., O my T.V.,
As I'm watching at your feet,
I don't know what's coming o'er me;
I have lost a presence, sweet.
You, I know, don't bring me comfort;
Nothing from the Lord I see,
But beholding you, I'm influenced,
More unlike the Lord to be!
